Our Story

Joint Technology Solution, Inc. (JTS) was founded in December 2002 on the principles embodied in the Seven Army Core Values: Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. These values continue to guide how we serve our clients, support our employees, and approach every program mission.

The foundation of JTS began decades earlier through military service. In 1978, JTS’s founder began his career in the United States Army, where he witnessed firsthand the power of disciplined operations and the ability of the military to communicate and execute mission-critical requirements across the globe. That experience shaped a leadership philosophy grounded in critical thinking, accountability, and the belief that organizations thrive when they empower individuals to lead.

From the beginning, JTS has embraced the idea that both the military and industry share a common objective: building high-performing teams capable of achieving complex program goals while supporting a clear strategic vision. Guided by this philosophy, the company has focused on fostering both personal and professional growth within its workforce while cultivating collaborative partnerships with the agencies it serves.

Service as a U.S. Army Signal Officer provided the technical and operational experience necessary to support major Department of Defense acquisition programs. During this time, the importance of collaboration, transparency, compliance, and traceability in mission execution became clear, principles that remain embedded in JTS’s operational framework today. Mentorship and leadership development have always been central to the company’s culture, reflecting a long-standing commitment to preparing the next generation of American leaders.

In 2012, JTS expanded its leadership team when Tania Garavito joined the company, bringing extensive experience working with leading federal contractors. Her leadership helped accelerate the company’s growth and diversification. In 2017, she led the acquisition of MTCI, expanding JTS’s capabilities beyond Information Technology to include comprehensive Human Capital solutions such as Financial Management, Training, Family Programs, and Resilience Programs. This strategic move enabled JTS to better support the full lifecycle of service members, while also broadening the company’s technical portfolio to include systems supporting Human Resources, Payroll, and Logistics. As a result, JTS’s client base expanded to include agencies such as the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

In 2013, Jon Valdizan joined JTS and has played a key role in overseeing the company’s programs and contract execution as Director of Programs. As an active member of the Virginia National Guard, Jon brings current operational insight to his work, balancing his military service with leadership of JTS’s day-to-day program delivery. His experience strengthens the company’s connection to the mission and ensures disciplined execution across the contracts we support.

In recent years, JTS has evolved from a traditional services provider to a company focused on innovation. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the team identified a critical communication gap between patients, families, and healthcare providers. In response, JTS developed the Automated Family Alert System (AFAS), a solution designed to improve real-time communication and situational awareness for families during medical events. AFAS is now available nationwide and represents the company’s continued commitment to developing solutions that address real-world challenges.

Today, JTS supports federal missions across more than 30 states. The company is ISO 9001:2015 certified and maintains compliance with the Department of Defense Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements to safeguard Federal Contract Information (FCI) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). Protecting sensitive information and supporting national security remain central to the company’s mission.

More than two decades after its founding, JTS continues to build on its legacy of service, innovation, and leadership, remaining committed to supporting the federal agencies and missions that protect and serve our nation.
